The Terry J. Cox Poetry Prize is awarded to honor a poet’s first book, while also honoring the founder’s late father who held a lifelong love of poetry.
The submission window for the 2019 Prize is now closed. The 2020 Terry J. Cox Poetry Award (for both debut and previously published poets) will reopen for submissions November 15, 2019.
The 2019 Winner Receives: Poetry publication by Regal House Publishing in fall 2019 in paperback and $500 honorarium
The editors at Regal House Publishing will select their top 10 entries as finalists, and Zack Rogow will pick the winner on March 30, 2019.
Submissions are invited only through Submittable or by post mail. We do not have the staff capacity to read or respond to manuscripts that are submitted by fax or email.
*Submission fee: $25
*Please note that, without the submission fee, we would not be able to accept contest submissions, or to offer a $500 prize to the winner. As Regal House Publishing is a small press with limited staff capacity, contest submission fees allow us to maintain sufficient editorial resources for careful review of each and every manuscript. We understand that submission fees can be difficult to accommodate, but rest assured that because of them, your submission will be carefully read, reviewed, and considered for this prize. Thank you for your understanding.
All physical manuscripts must be mailed (or postmarked) to the below Regal House Publishing address by January 31, 2019. Please be sure to include the entry form and the $25 entry fee with your submission. Send one copy of each manuscript. Make check or money orders payable to Regal House Publishing.
