RHP Statement on AI

Regal House Publishing will not knowingly accept or publish works that utilize generative artificial intelligence in the writing or creation process. Submissions suspected of utilizing generative artificial intelligence will be automatically refused. Authors published by Regal House Publishing must contractually attest to not having used generative artificial intelligence in the production of their work. We also pledge to never engage Generative Artificial Intelligence and Large Language Models in the editorial process – all editorial will use human judgement in all instances. Although many publishers are utilizing artificial intelligence in the filtering and selections of manuscript submissions, Regal House Publishing will continue to solely have submissions reviewed by humans. Regal House Publishing prioritizes the protection of all authors’ intellectual property. This includes our best efforts to prevent the use of our works by Generative AI and Large Language Models that do not accredit or acknowledge credit and consent of the creator or adhere to copyright laws or conventions. No use of any work published by Regal House Publishing may be used for training or otherwise developing generative artificial intelligence platforms without the explicit written consent of the copyright holder – the author.

All artwork associated with publication covers is created by humans; no artificial intelligence is knowingly used in their creation. No use of cover art or any image published by Regal House Publishing may be used for training of, development of, or employed by generative artificial intelligence platforms without the explicit written consent of the copyright holder.

Regal House Publishing sees the utility of Generative Artificial Intelligence and Large Language Models in the publishing industry as limited exclusively to operational and administrative support in business functions. Those functions are succinctly outlined by the Independent Book Publishers Association .

Regal House Publishing views the use of Generative Artificial Intelligence and Large Language Models as antithetical to the creative process of writing. “Due to its ability to produce work of a sufficient technical standard to achieve these instrumental goals at a lower cost, Artificial Intelligence poses an existential threat to the livelihoods and thus work of an entire class of ‘professional creatives’.”(1)

Regal House Publishing agrees with and supports the principles established at the Paris 2025 AI Action Summit: International charter on ‘Culture and Innovation’; those being:

  1. AI model providers must respect fundamental rights, including copyright and related rights, in particular by diligently seeking and respecting the express wishes of rightsholders.
  2. Effective and full transparency towards rightsholders on the copyrighted works and content used to train AI models.
  3. Encouraging operators of AI models to seek licenses, within the framework of authorizations duly negotiated with rightsholders.
  4. Appropriate and fair remuneration for the use of works and content protected by intellectual property rights.
  5. Effective sanctions for non-compliance with these principles.
